Westminster Choir College Alumni Awards
Nomination Process
Any member of the Westminster Alumni Association and community is eligible to nominate alumni for these awards. The Nominating Committee of the Alumni Council will vote to select award recipients based on nominations. The Alumni Council accepts nominations throughout the year and votes annually in January. All Alumni Awards are presented during Alumni Reunions in May each year.
Alumni Merit Award
Presented to a graduate who has distinguished him/herself in the greater musical community, building upon the foundation established at Westminster. At least one award is presented each year, no more than three a year
Alumni Service Award
Presented to a graduate who has served Westminster in a distinctive and exemplary way.
Westminster Merit Award
Presented to a non-graduate who has distinguished him/herself in the greater musical community.
Not an annual award; presented when deemed appropriate
Distinguished Merit Award
Presented to a graduate or non-graduate who has already received the Alumni Merit Award or the Westminster Merit Award.
Not an annual award; presented when deemed appropriate
Westminster Service Award
Presented to a non-graduate who has served Westminster in a distinctive and exemplary way.
Not an annual award; presented when deemed appropriate
Distinguished Service Award
Presented to a graduate or non-graduate who has already received either the Alumni Service Award or the Westminster Service Award
Not an annual award; presented when deemed appropriate
Talbott Award
Presented to someone who has made a significant financial contribution to Westminster, given in consultation with the Development Office.
Not an annual award; presented when deemed appropriate
Williamson Medal
Presented to someone who has exceeded the expectations of both the Merit and Service Awards; this person probably has received one of both of the fore mentioned awards. Not an annual award; rarely presented
